This queen size bed and nightstand is built from cherry — a wood chosen as much for its character as its beauty. This nightstand is built from cherry to match the queen size bed. The drawer sides and back are soft maple. The drawer bottom is solid, quarter sawn, bubinga that was left over from the coffee table project.
This coffee table showcases bookmatched Bubinga veneer over Baltic birch plywood, with the grain pattern flowing continuously across the top and around both ends. The rounded corners were shaped using kerf-bent veneer formed over a custom mold and set with a vacuum press for even, consistent pressure across the entire piece as the glue cured.
This cabinet is made from bubinga wood, featuring both solid wood and veneer on the exterior, while the interior is adorned with birds-eye maple veneer. The deep reddish-brown tones of the bubinga create a stunning contrast with the vibrant purple hues of the solid purpleheart wood used for the door pulls, shelves, and accent trim. A light embedded in the bottom shelf gently illuminates the interior, casting a warm glow through your selected beverage and creating an inviting atmosphere.
