Bandsaw Boxes

Bandsaw boxes are unique, handcrafted wooden pieces typically made using a bandsaw to cut intricate shapes and designs. These boxes often feature smooth, flowing curves and are known for their distinctive, organic forms. The process involves cutting a solid block of wood into the desired shape, hollowing out the interior, and then reassembling the pieces to create a functional, visually appealing storage container. Bandsaw boxes allow for creativity in both the shape and finish, making each piece a one-of-a-kind work of art.

These bandsaw boxes were made from scrap wood left over from other projects. The wood blanks were glued up to create a striped effect.

Species of wood used include:

  • cherry,
  • soft maple,
  • and sapele.

Each was finished with Watco Natural Danish Oil. The inside of the drawers are lined with flocking.
